Anthony Hopkins was unrecognizable in this movie

IDK what it was but if it weren't for the credits I wouldn't even known that was him.

Anthony had put on a good bit of weight so he wasn't his usual fairly trim self. His hair also was fairly unkempt unlike the neat styles he had in his other movies. Maybe that was how Sir Talbot was suppose to be, he no longer caring about his appearance or behavior when the moon was full.

A young guy with unkempt hair, unshaven face, and wearing old clothes will definitely look like a bum, an older man with those attributes will look like a slob.

If you watch the movie " Remains of the Day ", you will see hopkins portray a butler in his 50's and then roughly 20 years later a butler in his 70's. He looks fine either way because he is clean-shaven and neatly dressed. His father in the movie was the same way, so his father looked good for a man in his 70's.

Older guys are taught that to offset a receding hairline they need to grow a beard or mustache to draw the focus downward. I think this is wrong. A beard or mustache particularly on an older graying man just makes them look a whole lot older. Anthony with the unkempt hair going this way and that, the white beard, and the pudgy clothes, at times he looked like he was about a million years old.

If you are a man and you want to look good in your latter years, you need to kept your hair trimmed, your face clean-shaven, and you need to wear some decent clothes.

I wasn't going to ask that but it's a valid question.

Well he did look different, but I could definitely still tell it was him. Besides he has a very distinct voice that once you hear you know it's him.

Really? I think he has very distinct eyes, I recognized him immediately.
