What if Ray had skipped town?

I wonder what if Ray hadn't been caught by the police and escaped on the train, and not been spotted by cyclops, then what would have happened to Harry and Ken's relationship?

Would Harry have decided to kill Ken later as punishment, or would they have remained friends (even though Harry shot him in the leg).

Well as we saw, Harry was giving Ken a helping hand down the stairs .. seemed as Harry had some what of a small 'soft spot', when not talking about his principles. I don't think he would have done any more harm to Ken if Ray hadn't of returned.. I think shooting him in the leg was enough revenge for Harry to feel some what redeemed.
