I'm glad others have noticed the quality of the score. For me Chomet composed one of the Top 5 scores of 2010 and should be nominated for an Oscar too.

Apparently the instrumental theme heard at the beginning of the film is not included on the soundtrack. what a disappointment.

Yeah the one used for the trailer. I listened to all the samples on 7digital - it's not there. there is a version with various artists singing on it, though.

I've finally tracked down the score and I've loved listening to it. It's very beautiful, very diverse in style: it's funny, melancholy, upbeat, circus-like. Sylvain Chomet definitely deserved an Oscar nomination for this score.
