I think Melvil would have a long laugh if he saw his description in the write-up as "a quirky Frenchman"!
And then have a beer.
What does "quirky" means?
In the current francophobia anything labelled as "French" (even when it's not so that's quite funny sometimes...) must be accompagnied by some adjectives...

Quirky means somewhat unusual, eccentric, but in a loveable way.
