Kate Hudson....*sigh*

Excluding "Almost Famous", which is the most awesome film ever, has Kate Hudson ever been in a film that didn't suck?

I liked Skeleton Key

Seems like her career is going somewhat parallel to her Mom's-some nice critical work early on, then Goldie went the commercial "mediocre-comedy" route with a few dramas spliced in. The difference is people loved Goldie and no matter how poor the material, Goldie could make it seem just a bit funnier than it was and her on-screen pairings were usually right on. Kate apparently wants to go the same route but I am not sure the public has accepted her the way they love her mom. Kate had her "Cactus Flower/Sugarland Express" time with "Almost Famous" but she hasn't quite found her "Private Benjamin" yet.

She burst onto the scene with such a hit (Almost Famous) and peaked at 21 and the only way to go was down. I think she's quite talented but she just makes very safe movie choices. Her movies generally do well at the box office but critics pan them.

reply

Love Goldie, don't like kate. Don't hate her - she just leaves me cold. Her mom also always had a great butt, while sadly Kate has little or nothing in that department.

And hey, it looks dumb whenever she's with that Mathew guy, trying to get some chemistry going, when she's now practicaly the notorious Black Widow who almost got Owen Wilson to kill himself. So what the hell is she smiling about on those magazine covers? His death would have been on her hands.

Just as Heath Ledgers's death IS totally on the hands of Michelle Williams. These cold-hearted chicks just don't realize how harsh it is to dump a guy. When chicks get dumped, they cry to their support group of girlfriends, eat a bunch of ice cream and jump onto the next dude waiting in a long line for their movie star selves.

But what does a dude have left after the bomb hits? Nothing to live for, that's what. They'd gone out of their way to actually make a comitment - usually for the only time in their lives. They settled down, maybe had a kid or two with their girl, which are HUGE steps for most reluctant guys to ever take - and then bam! No more chick and no more anything. That's why such suicides are never any surprise.

That is by far the stupidest thing I've ever read and incredibly off topic. I've had bad relationships in the past where the girl literally starts dating another guy while she's dating me and then dumps me out of the blue. Was I upset? Yes. Did I want to end my life? No there are a billion other girls out there and that particular one just wasn't right for me obviously. Being a movie star and trying to kill yourself over being dumped? Come on.

reply

"the girl literally starts dating another guy while she's dating me and then dumps me out of the blue" HAHAHA a girl did that to another guy and left him for me, told me that they had already broken up and I (being stupid) believed her. Then she went and did the same thing to me. Women. You're not alone Hobo Matt.

reply

moviemystic,

So, what you are saying is that it's wrong to dump a guy? So what if you get dumped! It HAPPENS. I don't think a girl should have to stay with a guy so he won't cry.....

Just because you're hung like a moose doesn't mean you have to be a porn star

reply

Are you really that stupid? It's so easy for a girl, because we have girlfriends? And we just go jump on the next guy? Really. 'Cause I've never done that, and a lot of girls DON'T have a big group of girlfriends. Wow, you've watched one too many chick flicks if you think that's how girls REALLY deal with break-ups. It sucks for us too. Guys have THEIR friends. And if you have NOTHING to live for after a break-up, you're pitiful.

So it's worse for a guy because they have commitment problems? I like how you speak on behalf of EVERY guy. Not every guy out there is a commitmentphobe.

And Heath Ledger's death is on nobody's hands, really. It was an ACCIDENTAL overdose.

What, is a girl supposed to stay with a guy FOREVER because he finally settles down and commits? Should we give him a trophy? We're supposed to be unhappy forever and eventually have it turn into a bitter relationship lacking love, and then have a messy divorce after 20 years? That makes SO much more sense.

You're a DOLT. And a pig, Kate Hudson's worth as an actress (or lack thereof) has nothing to do with her backside.

reply

not all men have commitment issues. I got my girlfriend a ring and she got herself a german volleyball player. Yay!

That was a long friendship, alot of hardwork and all manner of incredible back bending on my part shot straight down the toilet to hell. Took out two of my best friends too as they were her brothers and thought it was my fault.

So there I am alone I cried for 10 minutes, took a long 700 mile drive home, worst vacation ever by the way, and went about living.

Have I dated since then no. Do I care to not really, It's the firls turn to make the effort this time :) Otherwise being the mean old codger I am at 28 suits me just fine. DOn't get me started about back in my day walking to school in blizzards while the rich kids had thier fancy mule drawn carriages.

I may also have lost my mind If you find it return it plaease there is no reward.

IMDB Idiotic Morons Debating BullS%&!

reply

=\ I'm sorry!

I didn't mean it in a way as 'all men have commitment issues,' but his last paragraph made it seem as though he thought that it was that way. My boyfriend has zero commitment issues.

Did you walk to school, uphill both ways? With no feet.

reply

Almost Famous was the only film that I ever saw her in that DID suck! All her other films that I have seen are really good. Apparently you and I have very opposite tastes...

This is my opinion, and I am allowed to have one...

How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days and You, Me & Dupree was pretty good movies

reply

You, Me & Dupree was not a good film at all. It has its moments but aside of a few chuckles, it was not very funny.

You, Me and Dupree was INCREDIBLE!!!

I loved How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, it was VERY funny. I was hoping for the same with Fool's Gold but no such luck.

reply

I also loved How to lose a guy in 10 days...I hoped they would have the same chemistry in this movie , but sadly they didn't...

reply

hahahahaha NO!!

what do u want from me!!!

She's just something nice to look at in most of the movies she's in now. When it comes to more serious roles, she's not too bad at all.

reply

She's great in serious roles but she does not do them a lot.

reply

i thought "200 cigarettes" was pretty good.

I guess 'You, me and Dupree' but then she was critised for that performance too

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.

reply

I love Kate Hudson and I love the way she acts. She doesn't do great movies but I'm not picky with the romcoms I watch. I really loved a few of the ones she did. I have never seen Almost Famous though. I like I must.

Perhaps our greatest cruelty is our blindness to the despair of others.

reply

She was pretty good in "The Killer Inside Me" which is light years from anything resembling Fool's Gold.
