Matthew McConaugh's acting was pretty good. I really felt like he was devastated at his circumstances especially when Kate Hudson's character was divorcing him.
Perhaps our greatest cruelty is our blindness to the despair of others.
For me there was little romance since they spent the majority of the movie shouting at one another when together, not a huge amount of comedy and the adventure only kicked in towards the last 20 minutes or so.
shareThat's one of the most important aspects about the movie, for me. McConaughey makes me feel for Finn. His determination to prove himself, especially to his ex, is believable and endearing. He's also hilarious at times, like when he says, "Boats sink. No one knows why!"
