Projected to open with 7.6 million

According to HSX.com it is projected to open with 7.6 million. I'm not sure what the budget is but unless it is lower than 20 million dollars this movie will be a gigantic flop.

Really sad to see. It looks sort of funny and I really thought Eddy Murphy was making a comeback.

How are they projecting $7.6 million when it opens in more than a WEEK?! And how are you calling less than $20 million opening weekend a flop while admitting you haven't a CLUE on the production costs?!??! This entire post is ludicrous

It's the wild wild w-est.t

HSX.com predicts this things weeks in advance. Even longer than the 8 days before this movie. And I never said it has to make more than 20 million in its opening weekend to be a success. I said if it does make 7.6 million in its opening weekend the budget better be less than 20 million. Never said it making less than 20 million in its opening weekend would be a flop. Read before you post next time please.

I just read its getting released in only around 1500 theaters. For the amount of tv spots Ive been seeing for this lately, i would have figured it would have at least gotten more theaters. Meet Dave and Imagine That came out in over 3,000 theaters.

Wow that is a big surprise it only has 1,500 theaters showing it. But maybe that is because of the competition it has. I can see why it is projected to only make 7.6 million opening weekend now.

It's just a guess but I'd think the film cost about 40-60 million. The previous two Robbins-directed Murphy films cost 60 million each.

Anyway, it has been on the shelf for years and movies like that (almost) never make decent business at the box office.

Nicolas Cage is one of the producers of "A Thousand Words". So, another flop for him.

Everyone realizes that Eddie Murphy actually made this film before Tower Heist?

I knew the movie was delayed but I had no idea it was filmed in 2008. Damn. But they did do reshoots last year.

It is now projected to make 5.9 million dollars this weekend by HSX.com. This thing is going to be a giant dud. They should have just released it direct to DVD/Blu Ray. It would have saved the money they needed to spend by releasing it in theaters.
