A good chunk of Eddie's movies in the 80's and the 90's were hits, but the
2000's were mostly flops. 2011 gave him a hit with Tower Heist, but A Thousand Words looks to be heading towards a flop. Probably would have been better if he stopped after 1999.
Honestly! I want Eddie Murphy to stop making movies because aside from his early comeback with Nutty Professor in 1996 and a 2nd with the Shrek films he has turned out flop after flop! And he doesn't even particularly try in any of these corny family films. I just want him to retire. I gave up on Murphy way back in the 90's but his movies aside from the animated stuff is just plain pitiful. I actually hope this movie will put Murphy out of business so he can stop embarassing his past legacy with these below average family films.
shareI think that the last good movie that Eddie Murphy did that wasn't a comedy was Dreamgirls since I believe that he deserved an oscar for his portrayal of Jimmy Early.
