Could have been great without all the silliness.

This should have been a serious drama. Even with Eddie Murphy, it could have been really good. I liked the plot, story, and outcome... just not the delivery. It had too many 'WTF' or 'why didn't he just...' moments.

I came here to say the same thing. I thought the plot was very good, and ditto about the silly moments taking away from what could have otherwise been a good film.
