Movie filmed 4 years ago... many discussions - Summed up here

Ok,

so I have read at least 5 topics on the fact this film was shot in 2008. Please keep this in mind, Eddie's career was turning into Mush after 2007's NORBIT. It just started completely falling apart, piece by piece, plus many previous films were complete disasters.

Paramount and Murphy have gone back years and years, but at some point after all the flops they had to say enough. Since there was a murphy hiatus for a bit, where things calmed down, it seemed logical too pull this off the shlef, and hopefully get it out the door.

The problem with the film is not the premise. It is Murphy. he has become box office poison. He tends to overdo it with the facial expressions, and the hammy delivery of the lighter moments, but as you watch the film and the mood turns more dramatic because his time is closely coming to an end, he more serious dramatic moments really shine, until he goes back to the campier side whch screws it all up.

If they could have kept the movie more even, not have Murphy do his typical cvhildren's murphy I think this film could have been a success.

I gave the film a 7, why you may ask, because in those more dramatic moments Murphy shined, and I liked the concept of the film in that if you only have a 1000 wrods left to say, I would think you would want to make them count.
