Why I thought this was a great movie!
It was on TV and I started watching it from about the half way point. There was some raw, emotional acting done by Murphy. You can tell that the guy loves his family, especially his children. Here's a guy on the verge of losing his family, just when he starts realizing how much they mean to them. The scene where he meets his mother 'for the last time' was beautiful. It's too bad he's typecast as a comedian. If they had cut out the forced attempts at comedy, cut out the hollywood ending, this would have been much better received. I was able to look past it all and that's why I am calling it great.
