My crazy sister-in-law was roomies with her in jail

They were bunk mates in a Texas State prison. I asked her if she ever talked to the girl about the crime and she told me all the girl could think about after she hit him was loosing her nursing license. Apparently that was the driving force that made her not go get the guy help. How about that, a nurse does this to another human being.

My sister in law was in there for drugs. She has been busted so many times I lost count and so did the courts so they gave her an 8 month stint to see if that would correct her and so far it has. Anyway, sis says the girl was really not such a bad peep ,she was high on LSD and drunk at the time and was afraid and made a terrible mistake.

Not such a bad person?? Sure she was lovely for a cold blooded drug taking psycho cu nt, must invite her around for tiffin when she gets out. Unreal.

your opinion is the wrong one!

reply

she's not getting out. Sis says she will be there forever. Point I was making in conversation with the woman was, before the crime, she was not such a bad person. She was fairly responsible considering folks in her league and from that area of town. Now she made a huge mistake, 1st to get high and drive, then to not pull over and call for help when the accident happened. And that is the point, it really was an accident. I bet many peeps dont think about the consequences when they choose to get high. It never crosses their minds that they might run over a homelss man and then fear for their future by offering him the help he needed.

There is a lesson in this for eveyone, dont get high and drive your car.

reply

Its definately a testament to what can happen if you drink and drive or take drugs and drive, I see your point. One massively stupid mistake and her life was over, (never mind the poor victim), from what I read about her case she got caught cus she was laughing about it with someone at a party, so she didnt seem overly remorseful. certainly got what she deserved!

your opinion is the wrong one!

reply

wow I didnt hear that. Ill ask my sister if law if she knew this fact. I would bet the girl didnt tell this to other prisoners for fear of retaliation.

reply

As I recall, the way she got caught is too many people knew; I sort of remember her laughing about it, but not sure.

Drugs and alcohol don't change who you are on the inside. Also, the effects don't last as long as it (might have) taken the man to die - they surely aren't the reason she hid the crime for nine months and then BRAGGED ABOUT IT! You've got to be sick in your soul to be that way.

Chante Mallard was obviously a misanthrope and/or racist who just hid it well... until a crisis brought out her true character. She should've gotten the chair.

The Doctor is out. Far out.

Well it depends on the drugs, if she was on LSD as OP stated then the effects can last up to like 8 hours, And according to news sources the man died within 2 hours.

However not reporting the crime after the 8+ hour mark, There's really no excuse.

Had she reported it once she was "sober" and just came clean she would be doing like 3-5 years for manslaughter. But she didnt want to lose her nursing license.. Which seems kind of off, last time I checked people become nurses and doctors to help their fellow man.... Like someone said its sad someone had die for her true nature to come out. I guess its an example of what goes around comes around though, He had to watch his life slowly slip away over 2hrs, She gets to watch hers slowly slip away over the next 50 years or so.

A bit naive if well meaning. People often become doctors and nurses for... gasp... the money!
It's been estimated that a surprising number of anesthesiologists actually take up that line for the access to the drugs. And the professions do make for a comfortable living. Not many poor doctors or nurses around you know. Not right out of training anyway.
They aren't all Florence Nightingales. Some people actually do a job for the money it brings them. Like this bitch, who didn't want the flow of money her nice job brought her, to stop.

If she had the common sense of a nurse, even if she was high, she should have called someone she trusted immediately who could give her sober advice. Sadly she did call people to help her dispose of the body. As I recall he did not die quickly and she was sober enough to go to the garage & look at him - not to help him, probably to see if he was dead yet. The whole thing makes me sick & I can't beleive they made a movie out of this, even if it was based on reality or this version.
