3 things they changed which I'm glad they did [SPOILERS]
If any of you have read the details of the actual crime this movie is based on, you're probably sickened to your guts. If you haven't had that pleasure yet, here's a summary:

The 3 things that are drastically changed in the movie "Stuck" are
(1) They made it into a dark comedy instead of making it a depressing crime drama. Great approach. Sometimes when a topic is so horrific that nobody wants to hear about it, the best way to present it is through comedy or satire (examples: Catch-22, Dr. Strangelove).
(2) By having Mena Suvari play the lead, instead of an African-American woman like in reality, they diffused the racial issue. That way they can focus on the real story: how hypocritical and outright cruel people can be regardless of race. The real case may have been clouded by the fact that the driver was black & the victim was white, but all labels aside, Chante Mallard was just a horrible human being, period.
and my favorite is #3 (spoiler below)
(3) Sort of going back to point #1, they changed the ending to make the story less sickening. In real life the victim died after a number of hours stuck in her windshield with no medical attention. In the movie they give us a crazy but much more satisfying conclusion. I mean, if the audience is going to sit through 90 minutes of some guy bleeding to death with no help, ya gotta give them some sort of reward. Loved it!
