The woman from the real-life story this movie is based on was a black woman. Way to be PC chickensh-ts, moviemakers!

I heard they were going to make a movie about OJ Simpson with Will Ferrell starring.

I agree. Very strange that they swapped the race of the real criminal and victim - what was the purpose of that?

I know the mainstream media rarely reports or downplays more common black on white crime but has a heart attack over .. well, there are few white on black crimes, but black criminals being killed by police or citizens of any race other than black seems to outrage the media.

I've seen explanations as odd as portraying the original race of the people involved would 'distract from the story'??

Maybe we'll get a movie about how the black police beat white Rodney King and the criminal whites rioted as usual, destroying their own neighborhoods in an animalistic way, attacking innocent black people at random. Actually that doesn't sound implausible!

Admittedly, the Rodney King beatings was motivated by racism, whereas this particular crime was unlikely to be motivated by racism so much as classism (yes, the perp was working-class, but the person she killed was *even* worse-off). Still, considering how important diversity and representation is, it seems perverse to WHITEWASH a real-life story.

What did the people who said it would 'distract from the story', actually mean?

yep!
they are major chickenshits. also, how anyone would "dick" the real life, black ugly heifer was insane, we already know most of Hollyweird is.

Whatever happened to 'diversity' and giving Black people more parts?

Why isn't anyone getting offended by the WHITEWASHING of this film?

Lefists, progressives, BLM and self-identifying 'woke' people should have been lambasting these filmmakers for taking a BLACK story, and giving it to a WHITE actor. 😠😠😠
