What was Hani's plan to get Al-Saleem? I didn't really understand..

To use Leo's gf (havent seen this movie for awhile, may refer to characters by actor's name) as bait. Leo turned himself in for her, as Al-Saleem said, "for a price." Hani sold Leo b/c he knew he would have Karami (the guy the CIA tried grabbing in the alley w/ the van) in the location where the video would take place. Karami told Hani, Hani came with the battalion, saved Leo, arrested Al-Saleem... I know this is broad, if you have anymore questions lemme know.

Here's a question: Unless I missed something to contradict this, Farris was taken to Syria (the border crossing) and held there. Given that Syria would be unlikely to assist in such a situation, how did Hani get all these (presumably) Jordanian assets inside Syria to conduct an operation and make an arrest on their territory?

Hani uses Roger to get Al-Saleem. I think he figured out what he was planning to do when Roger was in his office and Hani showed him pictures of Saddiqui. He had everything set up then. You could see it all in Hani's face when he handed Roger the pictures.
