EXTRAORDINARILY SHOT. WHAT'S WITH THE STORY?!

Ok. This film is made incredibly well. Thank you Ridley Scott.

Thing is...Leonardo's character is hopelessly flawed.

So, you build this guy up, I mean, REALLY build him up...and then suddely he falls in love? Hm. Are we idiots?

And then he grows a conscious? Ok. Now I'm just watching the pretty pictures.

Oh. And, here we go...he is surprised by betrayal?

And then..ok..Russel Crowe's character...he knows all, and ne's a Bad Ass. And He's good at it.
Thing is, if they've been working with each other for so long, why now...in this situation...is Leonardo's character so shocked by his behaviour?

And why are they both so passionate about what they do?

It' like, they're exactely the same as the people they are fighting. Brain washed individuals.

So. Who cares about the KKK?

In short...why this film? Why watch it except to see Ridley work?

Really. Someone tell me why.

'Just to be entertained...', is not reason enough for me especially when a film pretends to do more.

How is this different from a good episode of 'SPOOKS' ?

Ya. I am pissed off. Wanted more from Ridley than another white hero in a foreign land.

I'll admit though.

It does end well.

The one thing Ridley did well was suggest that it's not the US vs. another country, but the US "assisting" a country in taking out terrorists.

All the Ridley Scott films are well made, as regards forward motion and tension level. Proven master craftsman.

DeCaprio character obviously flawed, for various reasons.

"It does end well." Are you insane? The idea that this character would simply be abandoned in a middle east environment is more absurd than anything George Bush ever did or said.
