why is mark strong always typecast?

Mark is a good actor, why is he always typecast as a terrorist/assassin/mercenary types. Movies like revolver , syriana and body of lies come to mind. I loved his character in Sherlock btw.

I think he was perfect for Hani. When I read the book I actually picture him and it made it a lot easier. Sly, intelligent, handsome and most of all he pulls off the middle eastern look easily... I haven't grown tired of him yet.

In movies like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Kick-Ass and Zero Dark Thirty he has more versatile roles that show him doing other things. I think his best work just happens to be when he plays middle eastern people. Plus he's said before he thinks villains are cooler.

I don't think you understood his character in BOL. He was anything but: elegant, calm, collected, intelligent, just but a toughguy nonetheless. But I agree that apart for very few roles he does seem to be unfairly type cast. He's an amazing actor and such a strong screen presence. He gave the best performance in this film out of the entire cast and deserved recognition for it. Btw, that look and that wig really suithim. He was very sexy.

He has a middle eastern look about him because of his Italian ancestry and its good work and good pay.

Its that man again!!
