I thought he was hoping to go back to her, but he might have been having second thoughts about endangering her. I don't know why else he would stick around after quitting the CIA.

I think Ferris is one of those people who just love the Middle East.

At the meal with the sister when Aisha mentioned that her sister wanted to live in the USA Ferris said he would swap. I get the feeling that he would have done that even if Aisha was not involved.
