What do you think ever became of Ferris and Aisha?
Do you think they stayed together or not?
Yes. He was buying her some more pastries!

In the final scene, Leo's character is actually seen selecting and purchasing vegetables/groceries, NOT pastries. And I doubt he tried to get in contact with her again, for safety reasons.

I don't think they could be together at all, due to many, many reasons. Safety concerns, their completely different cultures, religions, customs, her sister probably not approving of him etc. I'm European but I've met a friend from the Middle East (Iran, to be specific) while I was at university, and let me tell you they are so distinct from Westerners. In terms of romantic relationships, they have strict rules which makes it nearly impossible for them to be involved with people from other religions. As it was subtly revealed in the movie (when Leo's character leaves Aisha's house after the family lunch), women cannot even shake hands with men they're not related or married to, let alone hug or kiss or sleep with them freely, like we do. So the only reasonable outcome, in order for Aisha and Ferris to be together in the film would have been to get married and then one of them to convert and respect the religion of the other. Anyway, I thought their relationship was a bit forced and inappropriate in the film, but Leo had to have a love interest in the film, like in all his films, so they found a 'local' girl...
shareI wouldn't go as far as making generalizations, especially based on one of the most conservative countries of the world. It would also require some fine tuning to define Westerner. There are plenty of deeply religious Christian and Jewish families, who have the same rules, even dating is guided, as in their chaperons (despite being teenagers, or just simply unmarried) sit in the room with them (it should come as no surprise, that such communities have a higher, than normal sexual assault rate). While they don't make up a country, it's enough for them to rule a significantly big portion (Bible Belt?) of land, and a world most are not allowed to leave.
Aisha also said she likes to make Cala think she's in control of her non-medical life, to mean she's way more liberal, than her neighborhood. Actually, watching some Jordanian and Lebanese movies shed great light on how women in that part of the world actually live. As for Iran, it sure is strict, including a literal fashion police, but last year Iranian men took to Twitter in solidarity with women to object to a new dress code they felt was too much, so it's not like everyone is a zealot or a bigot.
