danny dyer as a pussy is bad casting

danny dyer is a wheeler dealer cockney geezer, having him as some guy who browns his kegs all the time was just wrong. The entire film he is bricking himself, getting beaten up, chickening out or running away. Piss poor.

But hes a Pussy in every movie. I mean Football Factory, as much as hes part of the firm hes just a fueled up geezer whose an absolute plodder when hes back in his senses. In Mean Machine again hes a total crank and likewise in this movie.

You wanna be a big cop in a small town? F_ck off up the model village.

Danny Dyer is a bad actor is what was probably meant.

reply

Really? I didn't know him and he totally sold the pussy role to me. He changes within the movie anyway.

reply

Its called acting dear boy!

I didn't buy his hard-man act in the TV series about real football firms. Wearing his Crombie and doing the jack-the-lad spiv walk down the street (fast and jaunty, with shoulders going and hands in coat-pockets), smoking his fag overhand (shielding the fag inside the cup of his hand with only the end sticking out a little from his thumb and fore and middle-fingers), talking extra low voice in extra Estuary-English. What can I say ? I saw him in Mean Machine - seemed more his style.

I have to say i thought Danny Dyer was better cast in this role than in his "hard man" acts.

It's acting.

Remember Borstal Boy? He played a gay sailor who nearly gets gang-raped. He's far from a tough guy in that film. In Football Factory, he wasn't exactly hard, he was a normal bloke and throughout the film he has doubts about the life he is leading. In Adulthood he has a brief appearance and he is a pretty tough guy in that, sucker punching Sam. Then in City Rats he was an ex-con/hit man. I don't understand this whole hard man image he has; he is just a good actor who can portray a wide range of characters.

It/ll be better tomorrow...
