Was this supposed to remind me of Wham! ??

Probably Wham! more than anybody else, but also a bunch of 80s bands who had one "dominant" lead singer (Duran Duran probably the best example) who you logically would think would have gone on to solo stardom.

I'd put money on it. The similarities are overwhelming...Hugh's character would be like Andrew Ridgely (?) to Colin's George Michael....Meaningless Kiss is so evocative of Careless Whisper...Pop Goes My Heart...Wake Me Up Before you Go Go? That's where I went.

I saw Wham in it.

Loved the video. So characteristic of that time for pop songs. Lol

Definitely it was supposed to be similar to Wham. George Michael leaving for huge solo success. And the other guy pretty much fading into obscurity. But I don't think that guy sang though. Or he only did background vocals. So that is a big difference between the two.

Both the "music video" and music was very "Whamish".
