Was brutally abused by father

who knows. The kid was 24. Who liked their parents at 24? The father had a quick temper according to her, which he very well may have, but he obviously loved his children. Just not sure why this book was written.

I think it's more that he and his sisters had to watch the father abuse the mother (allegedly). It's clear when you read the book "Into the Wild" that he had a lot of anger toward and issues about his family. But why that was exactly was never explained. Apparently his sister Carine had asked Krakauer to leave that information out. But that info was glaring in its absence, and it raised a lot of questions.
