I've heard great things about this series, but I'm personally not a fan of "football culture" which seems to be the basis of this program. Does this show stand on its own aside from that or are the plotlines all revolving around football?

shareI didn't care about football at all when I started watching this show. I started liking it later in life and now this show is even better to me now that I understand football. But you don't need to like it to enjoy the show.
shareIn real life, I don't root for criminals or like when someone is murdered, but we watch The Godfather and CSI and whatever else and we see murder as nothing when it comes to television. How does football play into that? Same thing. Instead of murder, it's football.

Not a fan of American football either...although I did download a madden demo because of this show. It didn't last too long though as I didn't understand it at all. I think that soccer (real football) is a much better sport.
After watching the series, im sure you are going to want to learn about NFL if you dont know much about nfl already
shareEven if you're not a fan of football or its culture, you will still love the show. While football is what initially ties the show together, it's the characters and their lives and ties with one another that bonds the show together like super glue. Give the first 3 episodes a chance! Pretty sure you won't regret it.
