So.... making sure that Luke Cafferty is actually going to the school he is zoned for is the right thing to do. He lives in that zone and allowing him to go to Dillon and be a Panther would be wrong and in violation of recruitment policy. They must do the right thing, even though by doing this this child's football career and college prospects will be greatly affected or nullified(he probably wouldn't have joined the army had he and J.D. McCoy had 2 years together. Okay, it's the legal and morally right thing to do.

Yet Smash Williams gets a pass for taking steroids. Coach and Tami keep his secret because it will ruin his football career and college prospects, even though it is the illegal and amoral thing to do. Especially since had Coach done what he was legally obligated to do, games would've been forfeited and a State title stripped. Not to mention Coach Taylor in complete violation of recruitment policy when he speaks to and allows Voodoo Tatum to join the team.
