Will this make me cry?
I love animals. The episode of Futurama where Fry's dog dies while waiting for him to return, "Jurassic Bark," gets me every time.
Will this movie draw tears?
Does one leave the theater depressed?

Yes, if you love animals, you will cry. BUT I didn't come out of the theater feeling bad. It was very uplifting. It treated love of animals with a respect I have rarely seen. Normally, loving animals is treated either as a joke, condescendingly or too sentimentally. This movie did none of those. Have you ever seen a movie that you identified with so much it was both painful and exhilirating? This movie did that for me. It is one of those movies where you either get it or you don't. The heroine was quirky and the life choices she evenutally made were unpopular, but she remained for me a highly sympathetic character.
I BAWLED LIKE A FREAKIN BABY!! But i do agree with everything the above poster said. I really enjoyed the film as well. :-)
shareThere are some parts you will find sad, but they are within the context of the reality of animal rights issues. But the animal rights ideas are only part of what you think about afterward. To me, the more provocative part of the movie was thinking about how the main character took some surprising turns in her life and what led her to them.
