I found this a much better film than both IMDB reviews and most newspaper and magazine reviews suggest. It's well written, acted, and directed. In the end Peggy finds her path and her community. She finds the right companions and th right work. She is litrally and figuratively on the right bus. A wonderful film.
shareI think some of the response from the film is based on the fact that it was sold in the trailer as a romantic comedy, feel-good film. And it meets that expectation for the beginning, and then takes a sharp turn that most of the audience doesn't expect, and some might not be comfortable with.
I agree with you that it is a well done film, and I enjoyed it more, once I had shifted my expectations for what kind of film it would be.
I liked it a LOT. It was SO unique.
I also REALLY loved the awkward situational humor a lot - which I don't think everyone will get. Molly's alllll about that.
People just have no sense or humor or grasp on these kinds of films these days!
