My $.02

I too thought this was going to be a lite comedy, and was confused by the odd twists this film took. It seemed to me like the lead character had a breakdown starting as early as when she started stealing from her boss - why didn't she just donate her own money? Bit by bit I lost sympathy for her character.

The, after royally messing up her life, she gets help, recuperates, and goes back to work. Then, the first web site with a cause that she sees, and she dumps her life and hops on a bus. Is this supposed to be progress? Can't she have a job, that must pay well for her to own her own home, and support animal rights? No matter how I look at it, it's hard to see this movie as promoting animal rights as a noble cause. I was left with an icky feeling that lingered on. So, thats my $.02.

I think the point was that in the end, we all have to be who we are. She just wasn't a person who should be working in a stuffy office, gossiping about dating and which group she thought she should be in. She realized that even though the people around her thought she was weird, that she had to follow her heart and do something that she felt was more important. So, she joined up with other people like her and left to do something she believed in.

Well said.

This film was puzzling (in a good way) in that it really is it's own genre. It was neither a comedy not drama and was realistic with odd, absurd touches. I thought it was very thought provoking.
