Trailer for Year of the Dog Was Completely Deceitful

no mention of dingdong's descent into loonytune doglady land nor any mention of the advocacy that she tried to shove down peoples' throats.

Haha, did you not get the comedy in her being such a crazy doglady?

And, um, I don't support PETA (atleast not beyond a few of its principles) but that didn't stop me from enjoying the movie.

Yeah, the trailer makes it look like a romantic comedy about two doglovers. I wonder why they chose to do that.

Interesting. If I had seen that trailer, I wouldn't have watched the movie, because the last thing I want is some sappy dog romance. Instead I read the description somewhere that the loss of her pet changes her life. That, I understand.

errrr because they knew they couldn't get most people to go see it since they are just so afraid of learning something about animal rights and what really goes on behind closed doors.

Yeah I know!!! It was TOTALLY misleading! I thought it was going to be about finding love between people through loss, but no it just turned into a psycho dog lady who didn't want anybody! I thought she was gonna get together with John C. Reilly, but he was just like there with half of a character to work with! I say "Whatever!" to this movie! Regina King was good though. lol I always like her.

It really bothers me when studios do this. I too was expecting a completely different movie. The trailer made it seem like a comedy, bordering on a romantic comedy and while I liked the film, I wasn't expecting it to be a drama. I must say I found the movie to be slightly depressing, but it was an interesting little film with good acting. I just wish studios would advertise films for what they actually are.
