I didn't know the plot going in & cried when Pencil died. Then I thought it was awful how that big dog killed the little one. I'm sorry but that's just not funny to me.

you really shouldnt take these 'doggy' deaths at face value...no dogs died..it was part of the story....you missed one though, her nieghbour shooting his dog on a hunting trip...but thats neither here or there.

I thought it had it's funny moments but overall, for me, it was incredibly sad. Not so much that the dog died but that I found truth in that animals are more loyal friends than people and I guess, to a degree, I could identify with this woman's twisted view of people and humanity.
That said, I still loved it.
