A picture from the past could solve this riddle

He could have just kept pictures of him and undoubtedable proof. DONE

reply

Sure. It's not like photo manipulation hasn't been around for decades.

Can't stop the signal.

reply

But they are on the edge of believing so it'd be all the physical proof they need. Nevermind, I forgot how the internet works so I'll just say, "you're right, I'm retarded, you win random internet person, I'm wrong."

reply

John spends his long lifetime changing his identity every 10 years or so...so if his wife from say 1955 found a photograph of her husband from about 30 years before his cover would be blown.

Also he has not tried to convince people (except the guy from 1700's) before...if he was going through all these "mini-lifetimes" trying to convince people a photograph would be handy (from it's invention circa 1840)...but he wasn't.

No riddle...no solution.

I'd have to agree with what he said. If one of my friends told me he was immortal and then pulled out some old pictures of him posing throughout the past hundred years or so, I'd immediately think "lol, nice photoshop" and it would do absolutely nothing to corroborate the story.

reply

Pulling out a book he'd written with an author photo from 50+ years ago that looks the same as today might be fairly convincing, though.

reply

The last thing he wants is proof of what he is. That's why he moves around, etc.

reply

And that pretty much solves the entire issue. You're right. I just wish he woulda said that. It would have made him more realistic.

First, he said in the movie that he didn't want to prove it. Second, he didn't take trinkets with him. Third, carrying "proof" of his true identity and secret could potentially be very dangerous for him. Not a good idea.

reply

Yep the moment someone had detonate proof of his existence he would end up in some pharmaceutical lab as a Guinea pig.

reply

Eh, you've never heard of Photoshop?

reply

But the issue was that he never intended to prove anything.

He just, knowing that he was leaving anyway, confronted them with his longevity as a spur of the moment thing.

reply

And why would he keep such a picture? The best way to get killed or become a lab rat for eternity.. that would be the most stupid thing he could do.
