Did Morgan appear extremely creepy to anyone else? If I were the cashier, I probably would have called the cops. lol He kept touching her, and standing too close, and pitifully asking for rides. It was an OK movie, not great, in my opinion. I love Morgan Freeman, but I think he was the wrong choice for the character.
I'm much too fond of the night sky to be fearful of the dark.
I agree with you, NightGoddess. Morgan's character was creepy. At the end, I kept waiting to see if he was going to start hitting on her, despite the fact that they were parked in front of his house with his kids and wife inside. Morgan was right for the part, but some of the choices he made crossed the line between trying to be this platonic, fatherly, friend and going for the "if things had been different" angle (i.e., Morgan ordering a little spicy soft taco!).
The end scene (where Morgan Freeman and Paz Vega's characters are sitting out in the car on the driveway) uncomfortable for me as well! Mainly because I felt that the characters had built such an interesting friendship out of the situation they were dealt and I thought that somehow their relationship would take a turn for the romantic..which would have been a complete let down, imo.
but it did not turn romantic...i do think it a shame that they could not meet for coffee every now and then since they admitted that neither had a true friend. jolena
the movie's script is as simple as it is so please don't complain guys!
through i really love this movie, it's one of the best movies i've ever seen. Has anyone noticed "the simple is the best"???
And the movie is so right, it tells us the truth of the real life. There is someone who appears in ur life for a while, not so long but they affect u in good ways and u really appreciate their appearances to u, but it's life, u may never meet them again but the memories they leave u are eternal.
It has taught me more than any expensive movies have done to me.
I really liked it. It was light, fun and original. I really like Morgan Freeman's ease and Paz's natural acting. It was was a perfect movie for a Saturday night.
That's what made the film so great, he was just within the limit of being creepy, especially when he said "I know you want to have sex with me". But we also saw that he is very much a people person and he likes to interact with everybody so in a way it made his behaviour with her less creepy.
:) fall in a friendly way, they couldnt had any relation besides the friendship relation they both needed....falling in love with another person is not about the looks, is about how you both feel when u're together perfect movie if u ask me!
No he did not seem creepy, some actors are just a little weird. He liked her and she liked him. I love that they trusted each other from the start witch is hard to do without wondering what the other person is looking for or what do they REALLY want. There is no doubt they will remember each other for the rest of there lives. I thought it would have made a great life long friendship if they chose to continue seeing each other like maybe the anniversary of the day they met. Don't understand why you [OP] would feel they would take such a innocent film and make him creepy most people could tell he was not that way from the beginning.
