Last scene:

M F: "This is our pact... We live..."
P V: "We live."
M F: "We work."
P V: "We work."
M F: "We just getting started.
We'll never see each other again."
P V: "Never."

I have a real problem with the last scene. Before Morgan Freeman's character said they would see each other again when Scarlet said they would never see each other again. Then at the end he said they would never see each other again. Seems kind of creepy and phony to me. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the two characters and their exchanges.

I really took this to mean that he was falling for her and that he thought it would be safer to not see each other again. He wanted to keep the memory of his day with her as is without complicating it or turning it into something it shouldn't be.

Of course there is also the whole "the live in to different worlds" angle. It's true but I got the feeling that there was more to it i the end...

I don't think there were any sort of romantic feelings developing.

It's just one of those things that happens in life - you meet someone (same sex or opposite), that you get along with really well, and if you had the time, you would be have the best of adventures, and are basically cut from the same cloth. But in reality, in this particular lifetime, it was not meant to be.

It becomes a very short, passing memory. But to know that there are people out there similar to yourself, living their own life, it's a joy and one of life's pleasures.

I think that the last lines of the movie is a pact made between two people from different worlds.I think that although they like each other very much (bordering sexual),I think that it would be impossible to be friends with one another. Also, they have to consider that Him is married to someone else.
