A beautiful, if flawed, movie
Along with a lot of other films, I watched this while attempting to recover from/take my mind off of a personal tragedy. This movie was the only one that made me feel good and lifted me out of my depression for a time.
I say that even though there are elements of the story that don't quite work, but the actors really pull it off beautifully. I plan to watch this again soon.
I don't mind admitting that part of the attraction for me is Paz Vega, who is maybe the most beautiful actress I've seen on the screen since...well, since maybe Phoebe Cates. The scene where she is changing into her interview clothes in the carwash restroom is heartbreakingly beautiful. Perhaps the most unbelievable part of the movie is the idea that her husband would cheat on her. WTF was he supposed to be thinking?
