Does anyone know if 10 items or less will be release day and date with the cstar video on demand release? Actually, I found out that it will. Check out http://www.sitemason.com/newspub/kcTV2U?id=34754

I guess this thread could be about this whole idea. 10 Items will be the first real major-budgeted film to be released day and date, bucking the whole distribution infrastructure. I double that this will change overnight (silent films were will around long after the Jazz Singer), but I give it 5-10 years until it's unrecognizable.

Your link was interesting because today in our local paper there was an interview with Morgan Freemen about this new release practice from Clickstar. It means that people living in small centers can now get to see some of these independent pictures that never make their local theaters.

Whether this will roll over to big budget pictures is debatable, but it is certainly a new concept.I am lucky to live in a city with an Art House Theater that shows this type of film and at a cheaper rate than the bigger movie houses.

The film opened in theaters in 12 cities on Friday, December 1st. It will be available for digital download on Clickstar (cstar.com) on December 15th.

It is now available on DVD.
