I think it is safe to assume he wasn't really going for a dead-on accent, the characters were goofing around. The fact that the accent was bad was kind of the point, they were joking around.

He sounded pretty generic american to me.

In one scene, he says something like "When I get too accustomed to a role, I start practicing my lines with an English accent, then I feel rejuvenated." Then they goof around and start talking with English accents.

all they really do is speak a few words common to the english...i wouldnt call it an attempt at the accent, let alone a bad try

Morgan's character,Him, knows that being British is not his greatest of strength.
That is why he is making fun of it to relive some stress.
