I want to know what others thought of this thing? Me and my wife rented it after reading the back of the DVD box and we were just knowked out by how entertaining this movie really was. Good acting, different story, funny writing. This movie was just a very pleasent suprise.

I agree! I'd never heard of it but saw it at the library. I never read more than a sentence or two on the back of the box (TMI), but I can watch Freeman in anything so I picked it up. What a wonderful film! Too bad it's not more widely known.

Rented by my ex,one Sunday after noon in London,loved its charm ,playfulness and the chemistry of the leads.
Its one of those films you discover at the rental store,that were ignored on first release,but that stay with you.Haunting,romantic and funny.
My thoughts are exactly the same! This movies always lightens up my mood.
shareI also liked this movie very much. I thought I had seen all of Morgan Freeman's movies, but this one instantly jumps to the head of the class as far as I'm concerned. Looking at him in interviews this character seemed more like the real Morgan than any other character he has played. He seemed to have a lot of fun with this, and I'm glad to have seen it.

I agree, for the most part. I thought the beginning was slow and the dialogue uninspringing. Personally, I thought all the "m_____ f______" was misplaced and just served to highlight that no one had much of anything very interesting to say. I was dredding watching the whole thing. But then, it picked up and by the end I enjoyed it a lot and found it a refreshing film.
sharefor whatever the reason...simplicity or perhaps a natural innocence coupled with cynicism, I enjoyed this film a lot....I suspect like many films the impact will always be the first viewing, but as always Morgan Freeman challenges us to think....love a movie that makes me think...even if only for awhile.

I agree!! I was not having a very good night and was lipping through on demand and saw this film and thought, "what the heck, I'll give it a shot", and OMG. It was incredible!! I am still smiling. I am so disappointed at the reviews. I thought I slipped by a hidden gem and logged on to here to see how others liked it only to find most think its a diamond in the rough. If you liked lost in translation, you will adore this.

I absolubtly loved this movie, I me across it unexpected while away at a hotel room for work andyou couold not have explained it better "what a breath of fresh air" indeed, it was so amazing. I love morgan freeman he is amazing and his character was so easy going and likeable and his co-star far surpasses Penelope Cruz in my eyes what a great duo and a great movie i will be certain to recomend this, glad i stumbled up on!
shareIt was beautiful in every aspect. I saw it flipping through the channels and couldn't quit watching. Paz Vega is an unbelievable actress, Morgan Freeman is amazing as always, Jonah is hilarious at the beginning. Amazing movie.
