The ****ing trees started attacking people. I was actually pumped to see the final battle and how they would pull it off. Then trees get up and start killing the telmarines(spelling?) with their roots, i was like wtf? It would have been much cooler to simply see them win against overwelhming numbers.
I agree with the first two posts. The trees suddenly undercut the drama of the battle and Aslan shows up and wins the war all on his own. The whole thing with Aslan swooping in to win the war was my problem with both films, especially the first one. In the first film, these kids were suppose to be the ones that would save Narnia, but Aslan shows up and its like the kids hardly even needed to be there. In the 2nd film, Aslan's hanging out in the woods for a few hundred years while Narnia crumbles, then he shows up to wake up the trees and growl up Titan to save the day. I know the films are based on books, but this may have been a good time to take a little liberty with the original source material and make the endings less simplistic and more compelling.
I doubt if you read the books. The kids were never meant to save Narnia in the books. That was an invention of the director in the movie version. There was never supposed to be much of a battle in the second movie. Most of Aslan's role was changed from the book. He never took part in the battle at all. Too much liberty was already taken with the source material. That was the problem.
SPOILERS!!! I think it went bad when they went to Miraz's castle. I think I expected a little too much going in because I thought that LLW was so good, but I think they changed way too much in this one. Why did Peter and Caspian have to butt heads so much? Why did they make Peter seem like he was losing faith one when we find out in later books Susan loses faith? Oh that's right they had to waist time with her stupid romance with Caspian. I hate that so much they had to ruin Susan's character then because of that had to ruin Peter's character.
I think everyone is being a bit harsh. The point of Prince Caspian, and Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe, is faith; that you can do nothing without God. In the first movie the children weren't meant to save Narnia single handedly, their purpose was to rule Narnia and rebuild after the dark times. In the second movie it was Caspian who called them back not necessarily Aslan (although I'm sure He didn't disagree). The children fought beautifully but in the end they needed the help of Aslan.
Technically, by calling the Pevensies, book Caspian also called Aslan as well even if he didn't realize it. In the movie, Aslan only came when Lucy went to him.
