Why did they have the Gryphons do that? (Spoilers)

First of all I want to say that I really loved this movie, it might even be my favorite of the three.

But did anybody else think it was stupid how they had the gryphons carry dwarf archers toward the Telmarine army in the final battle? In the first film, having the gryphons drop huge boulders at the enemy was a good strategy. It probably killed 4-5 of the witch's soldiers. But in this movie, carrying one dwarf who can at best, fire one arrow at the enemy is a terrible strategy. Who knows if the arrow will actually kill anybody? What if the gryphon dies before the dwarf even fires an arrow?

I know it's stupid to nitpick but that scene just irked me ha ha

Completely agree, it seemed like a ridiculous gimmick that didn't make sense. Much better would have been just to have the Gryphons / Griffins not carrying anyone and attacking with their claws instead!

I was wondering the same thing. It would have been a better strategy to make all the gryphons carry boulders and drop them in the catapults. They would have eliminated them and destroy one of the enemy's strong weapons. Instead, they were carrying the dwarfs who were shooting arrows (not even fire arrows like the one they had in the 1st movie).

Really bad strategy.
