Car on fire
When he set the car on fire & then stepped inside it to threaten the dude, I genuinely couldn't stop laughing
I know it was supposed to be badass & stuff but I honestly found it to be freaking hilarious

Yep. I remember driving past a car that was on fire, I was more than 50 feet away and it was so hot I it was burning my skin like sunburn... if you got anywhere near the car you would be suffering 3rd degree burns.
shareI know it's just a movie & we should suspend our disbelief & all that but some things are just dumb & hilarious
shareThere was a lot of dumb stuff. Like the plane at cruising altitude and then suddenly landing in the sea in what seemed like seconds after the missile hit. Then the main guy's breath holding ability swimming down to the stuff. Even taking into account the air pockets he utilized. The depth the plane fuselage had sunk, then the trip to the surface...
Also, what made me lol was the scene right at the beginning with the SEALs just chilling in that mini pool/decorative pond. Are we supposed to think that was an infiltration point? Some huge underground water network under Syria...
This movie has honestly some of the most cliched, "it's just a movie trope" sh*t I've seen in a while
Are Tom Clancy's novels like this? I genuinely have no idea. Never read any of 'em
The books lean heavily on military realism. This movie is an abomination. Clancy is spinning in his grave.
shareReminds me of a Bruce Willis movie Red. Bruce gets out of a spinning car as if he is stepping out of a stationary vehicle and we all have to somehow believe it.
shareBoth Red films went over the top with the action scenes. I honestly liked it. Especially the first one. They just embraced it.
This tried to stay grounded & do over the top at the same time. Which is why it mostly didn't work in my opinion
Plus, I genuinely didn't know that Red was based on a ComicBook series until a few years ago
I agree this car burning scene was unbelievable and stupid but just like Red it was badass.
The sinking fuselage was even more ridiculous but Overall I enjoyed it for a one off watch
I honestly didn't enjoy it as much. But I didn't think it was "hot garbage" either. It was ok.
Just middle of the road action thriller film for me. To each their own
