One of the best movies ever

First of all, I must thank you because I only found out about this movie thanks to your post.

Sure, it's a great movie for what it is. Top notch direction, acting, pretty decent score and engaging story, but I wouldn't quite go as far as calling it one of the best movies ever. Even though the story itself is good and movie makes the most out of it, in the end of the day it's nothing special and one part I (and I'm not the only one) think was kind of sloppy. I'm thinking about the part where he becomes a cop before even entering the academy and immediately works on a high profile case and partially leads a huge drug bust action. I mean, sure, he had some strong connections in the police force, but I still didn't find it quite believable.
