I don't think anybody wants to see Joaquin Phoenix...as a rapper or 'actor'...

Joaquin Phoenix actually was quite good in this.

It’s just so sad that the variety of the world should be used as a contentious issue.

Joaquin was a brilliant actor. He was exceptional in this. In fact, he really was a very gifted actor. He was great in this, Ladder 49 and Walk the Line. Why in the world he turned on that sherade for rap is anyone's guess.

Loved him in all the films you mentioned and of course in Gladiator and in The Yards. He picked up acting again, didn't he?

What do you mean "was" he is still acting. He has a movie coming out in Oct.2012 "The Master" plus a few more in the making. Where are you people, under a rock?
