Terrific portrayal of Russian criminals
I don't usually see this material tackled very well by Hollywood. It has been done in other films, but not with sufficient authority. This film portrays Russian crime bosses as evil thugs who have no pity for anyone, nefarious enough to turn a loyalty-challenged, drug-abusing nightclub manager into an instrumental member of the NYPD. Perhaps another crackerjack crime drama can take place in Brighton Beach in the future. This one at least sets a good benchmark.
