"The Godfather "in reverse

Godfather references are everywhere, it's almost like they were saying lets make the Godfather but in reverse, where the bad brother, turns good.
The movie has numerous allusions to scenes from "The Godfather, in the middle section of the movie they come fast and furious.
Robert Duvall is thrown in for good measure, and we can look at Vadim as a Russian version of the Turk

The Movie is not as exciting or as interesting as "The Godfather," because the Godfather is multi-layered, and follows a journey of years in the life of these people, While" We own the night," is more straight forward a story and doesn't have the same level of detail and accuracy.

Still the Godfather overtones are clear, including a Son who is moved to action by an assault on his Father's life.
