Size of town is confusing
For a town that was constantly being referred to as "SMALL", the town of Paradise sure comes off as seeming rather large. You don't find flashy country clubs in small towns.

shareTries come on all 'woodsy'.. yet seems like big town... hell the police station is hugh... for a town....
shareIn New England you do, as in other places too I would guess. The country clubs are usually part of golf courses, you don't usually have them in places where land prices are high, or were high. Some of the small towns are limited in size because the country club, nature preserve, whatever is there.

The trivia for STONE COLD says that:
"Paradise, Massachusetts is supposedly a caricature of Marblehead, Massachusetts."
And the total population of Marblehead is around 20 000 people.
