Well put. There is a consistency about them that really IS mesmerizing. Everything fits perfectly. Pacing, acting, dialogue, perfect music scoring, casting (and especially the consistency in recurring characters) etc.
These films are also incredibly efficient. Nothing extraneous exists and literally everything furthers the stories. These are on the surface simple films but they not only hold up to repeated viewings but invite them. They are actually very thoughtful films. Robert B. Parker (my favorite mystery writer) had a real style that has been well translated to these films.
Yes this Jesse Stone movies have a mood all their own. Robert B. Parker is my favorite writer and he has without a shadow of a doubt has the best dialogue in any books. That's why he is head and shoulder above the rest.
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing.
They are so good to watch. Good photography. Interesting characters.
