amused by logic hiccup re: the kids in the forest and the gun

When Sasha breaks up the kids tormenting Beth in the forest, he fires a pistol shot into the air. Then, with the kids lined up, he carefully screws in a silencer while the point is made that one of them must be sacrificed for their temerity in going after one of the club's targets.

he already fired one pistol shot, he is effectively the local head of power here, there is no one near to interfere, who would dare to even try to, so what was the point of the silencer for the second shot?

The only answer i can think of, is that we have a nasty perception of a silencer, and the screwing it in takes time, racks up tension in the scene. it would have no logical impact on the actual story or the characters.
