There were some strong guest stars that had those multiple episode "arcs". If I were advising Jack I would urge him to get back with Julianne Moore.

I loved him with Julianne Moore, too. She was so funny in her role. But I think Avery came closest to representing his true love, his career. It's so simple but remember "business gets me off" and other lines? He should have trophy wife after trophy wife because they won't mean as much as his career but will help him climb the ladder even further. The characters at the office fulfill his need for the ups and downs of interpersonal relationships.

Nancy was wicked-best, but Salma Hayek's character was the wick-hottest. Might have been funny if he had a harem going.

Difficult to say honestly, really apart from his ex-wife and the Gold digger, honestly they all fit with him quite well, and really it was only circumstances that ruined there chances of being together.
I quite liked CeCe, Avery and Nancy. But really I always got the feeling it would have worked out fine if he had been able to stay with any of them. I guess that's arguably the pathos of his character, Liz spent her life searching for Mr Right, Jack had already found Mrs Right over and over again, he just never got to stay with any of them.
Nancy, the most 'normal' and loving woman Jack ever got involved with. She was unselfish and encouraged him to do the "right thing" to marry Avery. The "right thing" these days is simply paying up for child support, but she let Jack go. She can be supportive and sweet to Jack, instead of causing him trouble like his other women. On the other hand, Jack loves drama queens.
Avery is a Machiavellian control freak. Elisa kills spouses. Bianca is just nuts. Liz is an unkempt nerd who will drive the OCD Jack crazy. Cece and Jack care more about work than each other. And Condi was never shown ;)
Nancy, she was most down to Earth & was his childhood crush. But it's possible they got back together considering Avery fell for that guy she went to North Korea with
