I know it has been hardly a year before InkHeart came to theaters but my question is: Is InkSpell going to be released to theaters at all or even just restricted to straight-to-dvd? Knowing that there are three books make me believe that this movie was "To Be Continued..." like Eragon was.
Like Erogon, City Of Ember and The Golden Compass; the movies did not draw a big enough crowd so the studio dropped any continuations. What you see is all you've got....unfortunately. You'll have to make due with gay vampires and and winey teenie boppers who can't decide on vampires or werewolves. We'll see what happens when "Tunnels" comes out .It may wind up in the single book movie vault also.
"I'm lost in development hell and my map burned up!"
Personally I wasn't too big of a fan of the Golden Compass, though it makes me sad that Eragon and City of Ember (and now Inkheart) were dropped. I can only hope that The Last Airbender will be dropped, and one of these will be brought back!
Nothing like a nighttime stroll to give you ideas.
I thought that Inkspell and Inkdeath were better stories than Inkheart, although I enjoyed the first book and movie as well. I agree that Inkheart ended quite "happily ever after", but I continue to hope that the second and third books will become movies.
I don't know if my next statement would be considered a spoiler, so you have been warned...
I would love to see the Inkworld on the big screen, as it is (mostly) the setting for the next two books. The descriptions of the flora and fauna, the villages, castles and people would make a visually stunning movie, in my opinion. And the paths that the characters continue on are so interesting; it would be neat to see what the actors do with them.
There are so many trash movies that do well that good movies sometimes don't get sequels. Although I read on wikipedia (so I don't know for certain) that there will be a movie adaption of Inkspell in 2012. Look..at..me.
