Who actually DID Segal's voice over??

I'm curious...I've heard the voice (or someone's close to it) before.

And another Q from me, WHY is his voice dubbed over at all? In German it is normal to dub the movie, but unless his vocal cords were damaged, I don't see any reason to change his voice in English. Can someone explain to me why this was done (after so many movies where he used his own voice).

I think they dubbed his voice because they changed the plot of the movie after his scenes had been filmed, or, it's because Seagulls voice is now so fat and whispery tired it just doesnt sound 'Action Hero' enough anymore... :-)))

Its not even Seagull on the DVD cover, they plonked a very old pic of Seagulls head on somebody elses body, lol... Additionally, in his recent movies they dont just use doubles for Seagulls Stunts anymore, it seems they use a double for any scene where Seagull isnt sitting down...

Good stuff bibblitz - I needed the laugh. I agree this is the absolute end of the road for Seagal. I mean he was the man back 20 years ago, but now. I mean if you have to show non-facial features while using a double and dubbed voices, it's time to hang it up. This movie wowed me with its silliness.

hilarious!

but why would they get a different guy? SEAGAL produced and even wrote part of the screenplay (no one wonder they need all the voiceovers), but he doesn't bother to show up for the overdubs?!

he kills me

Seagal's deals with these quickie eastern-european film companies give him producer's credit to justify additional payments and some measure of control DURING production. He writes or co-writes his own screenplays as a way to get another paycheck and to save production costs that would otherwise go to another writer. BUT--and this is a big BUT--once Seagal delivered his cut of the finished film and was given his paycheck, he had NO CONTROL over what was then done with the film. The studio and/or distribution companies could take it and alter it in any way they saw fit in order to make it more commercial, but contractually they had to do it on their own, without Seagal. IF they had wanted to add in musical numbers or porn sequences, they could have.

Now why they thought their super-drug plot for Attack Force was better than Seagal's original sci-fi plot is beyond me. But they did.

I once worked near a post facility once upon a time which handled the ADR (dubbing) for one of Seagal's films. The manager there told me that they had a 2 hour session booked for Seagal to come in and run lines but he ended up showing up over an hour late and left early. It was baffling to the manager especially because Seagal had a financial stake in the film. I think it was a case of Seagal suffering from a more acute form of Clint Eastwood syndrome, the idea of if something is "good enough" then why bother trying to make it better if the only people out there who will care are the ones who are already paying to see your movie anyway.

There was the story I heard about Clint Eastwood's first day on IN THE LINE OF FIRE. The shot was Eastwood walking through the office and after the first take, Wolfgang Petersen asked Eastwood to do another take where he looks a little more concerned and is in more of a hurry. Eastwood responded "Was it in focus?". Petersen: "Yes". Eastwood: "Good, print it, moving on".

To me, it sounded almost like Martin Sheen's voice.

Robert Patrick's voice???

a lot of his films are made in eastern Europe because he hurt someone in the US and he cannot get stunt insurance or something like that in america, so mabee his voice was dubbed into polish or somit then they used the polish print and dubed it into english. that seems to happen a lot with older films. i may be wrong its just a guest
