What is going on with Deal or No deal

The last time I saw Deal or no Deal in Primetime was Christmas day Dose this mean Dono is Cancelled or will NBC start airing it more .

See below. May 6. Meanwhile, I don't watch NBC at all. Or ABC, CBS, TVLand for that matter. A couple cartoons on Fox.

Remember from 1961 when Najeeb Halaby, FCC commissioner, said network TV was a "vast wasteland"? He was right then and he's still right now.

reply

I totally agree with you TV is so freakin Boring.

There were a couple of episodes that aired after Christmas. My daughter worked on the crew of the nighttime Deal. Their last episodes were taped in late September or early October. Her job ended in early November. There were no plans to film anymore nighttime episodes at that time, and she has heard nothing that indicates that this has changed. The show was essentially cancelled. If they are showing an episode in May, it may be one leftover from the last tapings. If I can find a synopsis, I can ask her if they are just burning them off.

I was wondering what the hell happened to show, since it just disappeared. I was wondering if the show has been cancelled or on hiatus.

My daughter saw the promo for the episode in early May. She is pretty sure it is an episode they filmed last fall and that is the continuation of an episode that aired several months ago. She did hear from a friend that NBC wanted the production company to film 12 new eps in one week.....after they had let everyone go. She also said filming that many episodes in a week is crazy

The primetime version filmed about 6-12 new eps to wrap up the 2008-2009 season. The syndicated version which airs 5 days a week has been officially renewed for season 2. However, production for both shows will be moving from Culver Studios in the LA area to a new NBC Universal Studio set in Connecticut. The reason being that the production company wants to save on taxes and cut costs. The same thing is going on with the Jerry Springer Show, Maury and Steve Wilkos. They will all be taping in Connecticut. The primetime deal will be back for the '09-2010 season.

The latest episode aired last night. The next episode is on next monday.

The last 4 eps of 24 starts this Monday at 9 PM on FOX!

reply

Both those eps were burn offs that were filmed last fall.

If that is the case, NBC must have come to their senses about the dreck they have been showing in primetime *cough cough* Kath and Kim, Knight Rider, etc.
If they are moving the set to Connecticut, it looks like my daughter got out in the nick of time. She moved back home, as the job situation in LA was kinda bleak.
